After we took regular old boring posters and built an augmented reality (AR) experience into them for the Army National Guard recruiting forces of Wyoming, Utah, and California, the next step was obvious. We needed to take business cards and turn them into a lead generation tool that can easily be produced, distributed, and provide analytical data.
Like the AR posters, the experience begins when users scan a poster’s QR code; they’re instantly transported to a unique digital experience. However, there is a lot more happening in this new generation of AR products.
The business card comes to life and expands past the card boundaries with a video, a customizable Call to Action (CTA) button that can lead to a website or a lead form. Across the bottom, the user has the options to directly call, text, or email the recruiter with a single button push. Finally, social media links floating on the right side of the card instantly link the user to the organization’s or recruiter’s social media platforms. All of these buttons and links are customizable and can be updated in real time.
Next, a dashboard was developed that allowed for building new cards, updating cards information and links, and ordering. The dashboard also provides the ability to quickly see each individual card’s number of scans (QR Code), number of launches (AR Experience Launch), social clicks, and CTA clicks. On top of all of that is Google Analytics.
Over time, data provided by each unique user experience will go far in helping enhance the Wyoming Army National Guard’s future recruitment efforts, as well as provide clear, trackable data about how the information provided by the posters is being used.
