Augmented Reality Military Recruiting

BUILDING AUGMENTED REALITY RECRUITMENT MATERIALS FOR THE WYOMING ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

To kick off our engagement with the Army National Guard recruiting forces of Wyoming, Utah, and California, we built a poster-based Augmented Reality (AR) experience. By scanning a QR code on the poster with their phone, potential recruits can access information about the benefits of joining the Guard in a new, engaging way.

Next step: Creating AR business cards for the Army National Guard recruiters themselves. For these, we used AR to create a lead generation tool that can easily be produced, distributed, and used to provide analytical data.

Like the AR posters, the business card AR experience begins when a user scans a QR code, instantly transporting them into a unique digital experience. They’ll see a website link, ways to contact the recruiter, and social media links to instantly connect with the organization’s or recruiter’s social media platforms. (All buttons and links are customizable and can be updated in real time.)

Additionally, we’ve developed a dashboard to build new AR business cards, update existing card information and links, and allow for recruiters to order more. The dashboard also lets you see each individual card’s number of scans (QR Code), number of launches (AR Experience Launch), social clicks, and CTA clicks. On top of all of that is Google Analytics.

Over time, data provided by each unique user experience will go far in helping enhance the Army National Guard’s future recruitment efforts, as well as provide clear, trackable data about how the information provided by the posters is being used.
