Year In Review

Look, we know it’s kind of taking the easy route to do a “Year in Review” newsletter in December… but we all need to know where we’ve been in order to know where we’re going, right?

This month, we’re going to share a few (of the many) projects we’re proud of from 2021. Then, we’re off to get after it in 2022. It’s going to be a fun one!

Transforming Cheyenne

Coolio, Rob Base, and Paint slingers

UPDATE: We can’t NOT mention the best party of the year that wasn’t out at Frontier Park, right? Our crowd was fantastic. The music was incredible. And we got to watch tons of talented artists (who we’re proud to call our friends) change up the look of downtown Cheyenne with their amazing new murals.

What a fun weekend! Cheyenne, you’re the best.

We can’t thank everyone enough for coming out to enjoy the festivities, and we want to send a huge thanks to all of the organizers and volunteers who made this event possible.

Didn’t make it out this year? Check out our Facebook page to see some photos and videos from the concert, and be sure to stop by Paintslingers.org to see a full list of all the new mural locations around Cheyenne. Additionally, you can download the Visit Cheyenne app (available for Apple and Android) to take a tour of all public art, with new murals to be added soon.

Knowyo Fact Spinner

UPDATE: Our client sent these spinners out into the world over the summer, and from what we hear, they’re still getting plenty of use statewide.

Take it for a spin…literally.

These fun little “Fact Spinners” were created by one of our super talented designers, Mycena, printed and produced in Las Vegas, then delivered to the Wyoming Department of Health on time and on budget.

While in Vegas we visited Las Vegas Color Graphics, where our team toured their facility and saw first hand how everything was printed, cut, and assembled. Such a fun process from start to finish.

This was a fun project and a new design challenge – we love those.

Making financial aid fun.

UPDATE: This AR experience, microsite and ad campaign is gaining more momentum the further into the school year we get. As AR technology becomes more mainstream, the campaign’s AR stickers, posters and postcards are garnering attention outside Wyoming, too. For us (and our friends at the Wyoming Department of Education), that extra attention means more high school students are getting the message to apply for free financial aid for college, and if we can make that fun? All the better.

Many of us at West Edge Collective relied on student financial aid to pursue our degrees, so when the Wyoming Department of Education asked us to create something impactful and actionable that would encourage filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)…we said GAME ON!

Ever tried to appeal to high school students, college students, and their parents all at the same time? Not easy. Solution: Old-school and new-school collide! With retro video game vibes, Augmented Reality print collateral and media buys with TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube, the campaign is off to a flying start.

The Arapaho Ranch Field Station Project

In addition to capturing on-site photography and videography, we refreshed the brand’s existing assets and created a new brand standards guide, created and launched a new website using the new video and photo assets, and developed a detailed Situation Analysis and Marketing Plan that includes research, market analysis, and a three-year marketing plan with goals, strategies, and tactics.

Thank You for a Great 2021!

The “long/short,” as Chad would say, is this: We rocked this year, and for that, we owe a great deal of gratitude to our valued clients, friends and family, and our team of weirdo geniuses. We push each other to improve daily (or, as we call it, “Suck Less Today”) and we never fail to impress one another—and, apparently, our clients, too.

Here are a few gems we’ve heard recently:

“We have never experienced business like we have in the last few months”
“So exciting – we watched the video over and over!”
“We talked again and again throughout the day about how much we love the new website!”

“This is impressive. I can’t wait to see what you come up with in another year or so.”

We’re just getting started.

Have a happy holiday season, everyone.
